Senior Systems Administrator

Remote - Full Time

Please note:  This is a hybrid position; expected to be 3 days/week in-office (Cranberry Twp, PA) , 2 days/week from                                 home.  This is not a fully remote role.

As the Senior Systems Administrator it will be your responsibility to ensure our team has access to the tools, support, and applications they need to achieve their outcomes on a daily basis.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of network protocols, a background in supporting end-users in a variety of operating systems and environments, strong cloud management experience, and a passion for understanding the challenges facing the team and figuring out solutions to solve those problems. In this role you will need to walk the fine line of providing the team enough access to do their jobs while still protecting the data and the systems that make us unique.
Essential job duties include:

Ensure reliable monitoring and alerting for systems infrastructure;

  • Identity management on platforms using Azure Active Directory and Active Directory Domain Service;

  • Develop and deploy Group Policy objects that optimize the org’s global security posture as well as enhance end user workflows;

  • Installs, configures, manages, patches, and secures hardware/software according to established standards and compliance requirements.

  • Actively develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures, processes, and troubleshooting documents.

  • Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure

  • Analyzes IT infrastructure and system performance to assess operating costs, productivity level, upgrade requirements and other metrics and needs.

  • Oversees the facility of systems, networks, and enterprise information.

  • Facilitates IT security audits or investigations

  • Monitor and manage the IT budget to ensure effective delivery of IT services

  • Independently identify, research, and resolve technical problems.

  • Manage file, print, and application servers.

  • Maintain inventory and licensing records for hardware and software acquisitions.

  • Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.

  • Develop technical designs and estimates to meet the business needs while supporting the company’s overall IT direction and standards.

  • Create and maintain up-to-date network architecture diagrams.

Required skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, or other IT-related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience (IT and System Administration)

  • Available to work off-hours to perform maintenance or in caseof emergencies;

  • Solid understanding of network protocols

  • Experience supporting an array of applications on Windows operating systems including, Microsoft Office, SharePoint,email, VPN clients, firewalls, disk encryption, and antivirus software.

  • Microsoft Active Directory administration experience

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hardware and network problems in virtual and physical environments.

  • Must be customer service-focused and have excellent time management skills.

  • Must be detail-oriented, proactive, well organized, and have ability to prioritize work.

  • Windows Server OS and Linux server OS (Various Version)

  • Windows Services: AD, DNS, LDAP, etc.

  • Administration of Office 365

  • Antivirus/Antimalware experience

  • System Backup and Recovery experience

  • 4-5 years of Azure Cloud management experience

  • Experience with System Security Design and Principles

  • Experience with Scripting including Powershell or Bash

  • Previous Experience working with External Vendors/Suppliers and Contractors to complete necessary work

  • Demonstrated Cross-Functional ability to work with fellow IT Associates to identify root problems and design solutions to resolve

  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with Dockers and Kubernetes

  • Pure Storage experience a plus
